The least-crowded of Seoul's five grand palaces, Gyeonghuigung once sprawled across the western hills as a detached royal palace. Largely dismantled under colonial rule and partly rebuilt from the 1990s, its restored throne hall Sungjeongjeon and Heunghwamun gate now stand in calm, spacious grounds. Free to enter and next door to the Seoul Museum of History, it's a peaceful add-on to a Gwanghwamun day.
