Andong Banjeom

A half-century-old neighbourhood Korean-Chinese diner in Bomun-dong, run by an elderly owner and known to regulars as 'Seoul's home of japchae-bap'. Its signature is exactly that — a glossy mound of japchae glass noodles stir-fried with cabbage and mushroom, served over fried rice — one of the rare Seoul spots celebrated for plated japchae rather than serving it as a side. Hours are short and lunch-focused, so call ahead before you make the trip.
