Built as a residence for dowager queens, Changgyeonggung is the gentlest of the grand palaces, and its Myeongjeongjeon is the oldest surviving throne hall in Seoul. Behind it stretch wooded gardens around the Chundangji pond and a graceful 1909 glass Grand Greenhouse. Open late into the evening, it's a favourite for spring blossoms and lantern-lit night walks.
