Korea has some of the world's fastest mobile data and near-ubiquitous free WiFi. Pick up a tourist SIM or eSIM, and download a couple of essential local apps before you arrive.

Tourist SIM & eSIM
The three carriers — KT, SKT and LG U+ — sell prepaid tourist SIMs at airport counters, or you can buy an eSIM online before you fly and connect the moment you land.
Free WiFi
Fast, free public WiFi is almost everywhere — on the subway, in cafés, shops and many public spaces — so you're rarely offline for long.
Maps apps
Use KakaoMap or Naver Map for directions — Google Maps gives almost no walking or driving navigation inside Korea. Both have English and handle transit, walking and driving.
Other key apps
Add KakaoT to hail taxis, Papago for fast Korean–English translation, and the Subway Korea app for metro routes, times and fares.

Fares, prices and rules can change over time — please check official sources before you travel.
