Built in the 1790s by King Jeongjo, this nearly 6-kilometre wall of stone and brick climbs Paldalsan and loops past grand gates, command posts and floodgates over a stream. You can walk the ramparts between the towering Janganmun and Paldalmun gates, tour Hwaseong Haenggung palace and ride the dragon-shaped trolley along the route.
