The granite that built Seoul's Blue House and National Assembly was cut here until the quarry closed in the early 2000s; Pocheon then flooded the pit into the jade-green Cheonjuho lake and ringed it with sculpture, a café and a stage beneath 50-metre cliffs. A short monorail carries you up the slope, and a sky observatory and astronomical observatory crown the site, now part of the Hantangang UNESCO Global Geopark.
